The
Black Candle is lit, but it's flame is not seen,
The Work of the Witch is silent and serene.
Be true to the Goddess, faithful to the Rede,
Put spells in rhyme for power and speed.
Wicca is a religion and a practice. It is the worship of the Goddess and the God and it is the work of the witch. It is also an attitude. There is a special magic about the witch. You feel it in the way she or he walks, talks and you know it in their smile. It is not the smile of a person who wishes or needs mastery over others, but instead a quiet confidence that is a mastery of themselves and their personal environment.
The world of the witch has certain forces that are neither good nor evil, simply neutral. The witch knows that knowledge of these forces is not power over others, but a power that brings a future of great wonderment and beauty.
It is a confidence of knowing that the Goddess and the God are in all things around them...each flower, each blade of grass, each creature in the woods and in the sky. All are manifestations of Their power and love. The witch feels an interconnection with the world of nature and the world of the Gods.
Magick is a special brew of faith and will. It is the knowledge that your cup will always be at least half-full rather than half-empty, because it is your will. It is the knowledge that the love of the Goddess is ever-present and that ultimately, Her gifts will become manifest in your life.
We all want things in our life, we want to be free from indecision and self-doubt. No amount of training and no special skills will provide this confidence if the person cannot provide a fertile pasture for that attitude to grow. No amount of spells will make a person feel confidant unless they make certain decisions about how they perceive the world and themselves.
This is where faith comes in. It is the faith in the higher power that we see as the Goddess and the God. Yes, Wicca is a religion of a faith in the Goddess and God, but it is also a faith in ourselves. We see that we have been given a great gift by our worship of Them and by understanding the forces around us.
In the Coven of Black Candle, students learn secrets of the mind and how you can use them. Learn the powers that you have and how you can make them work for you.
