This is a skit I like to do this at Bardic Circles because it's fun. It is an ad for the Mojo Man in Morri and the Mojo Man novel. I first give the following visualization of a botanica where there is a continuous running ad played on a TV in the back of the store. The ad shows the Mojo Man on one side of a split screen with a panicked man on the phone on the other side. The Panicked Man is calling for help because his parrot is possessed.
(Dan the Mojo Man picks up the phone)
"Hellooo?"
"I'm the Mojo Man,
An' my friends call me Dan,
I got down home hexes,
I get them from Texas!
Need an Uncrossing Spell?
I do that well,
So what you got, that's so bad,
That you pick up the phone and call this dad?"
(Panicked Man answers)
"Mr. Mojo Man? Come as quick as you can!
Got a spirit in a parrot and he's talking up a storm,
He's got 50 big ol' demons and they're all getting strong!"
(Switch back to Mojo Man, who lowers the phone and speaks to
the camera)
"Oooohhh! That's so bad that I did it for free,
I took Five-Fingered Grass and Pachouli
Sandlewood, Myrrh and Blessed Salt,
Mix together like a chocolate malt,
Add ammonia to make it speak,
All kinds of power an' it's good for a week!"
So I took this stuff down to his house,
Snuck up to the parrot, quiet as a mouse,
Sprinkle the stuff all around his cage,
And even under the newspaper page!
The parrot went: 'Aark' and the demons went 'Eeek',
And they fell in a pile in front of his beak
The parrot looked up and he said, "Gee, Dan;
Sure glad I called the Mojo Man!"
So if you gotta spell workin' bad on you,
Listen up, I'll give you a clue,
Pick up the phone, dial as fast as you can,
An' call me, the Mojo Man!
